A Farewell Party for my Blog

Hello reader,

This the last post of this blog. Maybe it is not. I am not sure maybe I keep writing blogs about my ELT journey. This year is my last year in my univesity. I took lots of various lessons. However, this will be one of the memorable ones. In this course, I learnt various tools and their functions. Before this course it was  a little bit more complicated for me. Hopefully, the course made my perspective on technology use in ELT more structured. I called it structured but I learnt that we need to change our shapes regarding the updates in the field.

Language is something alive. Language teaching is also alive and we cannot separete it with technology in this era. If we do that we can lose our students interests. As teachers, we need to be well-rounded about technological developments to use and make our students use them in a beneficial, concious way. Only educating students is not enough. We also make sure that our students’ parents and coworkers are awere of the resposible use of any kind of techonological tool.

Using them conciously is a time saver. AI tools can be our free assistants. However, AI literacy is very important. Direct use of AI can be poor in lesson planning or materials. As future teachers we should guide the lesson. We can benefit from AI by leading İt accurately. Promting is a big deal here. I think we will teach our students prompting in the near future. I believe that, providing it to the students make their future studies easier.

I learnt various tools specifically for language learning such as Call Annie, Vacaroo, Ororotv and more. Most importantly, thereisanaiforthat. It’s my favorite bacause I do not need to remember different tool names.

Podcasting was the best activity beacuse it was collabrative and funny. I will use it in my future classes.

I have leant a lot, gain interest and joint different webinars since I joined this class. It provided a conciousness and light a fire in my heart as a future teacher.
